A large 2-piece stacking clothing chest design from the town of Nihonmatsu.Iron fittings with brass details(rabbit and moon)over elm (keyaki) drawer faces finished with wiped lacquer.The Japanese custom was to see a rabbit in the moon, a rabbit who made mochi, a popular food for marking the New Year.
