Black and Red StaircaseClick Product Image For Details
The kaidan dansu or step chest is one of the most distinctive tansu designs, being both cabinetry and architecture. This two-section example has keyaki or elm drawers and cypress framing with wiped lacquer. The sliding doors exhibit black lacquer surrounding the cedar panels and make for a striking visual presence. The forged iron handles are in a simplified melon or mokko style.
