Folk Art: Tools

Dougu, the japanese word for tools was originally the word for an itinerant monk's belongings. It alludes to the spiritual value which craftsman put on their tools. Saws, planes, shovels and ink-lines are, for us, now artifacts with history and beauty, indeed even personality. They now become graghic statements on a wall, or a container for flowers, and in our use we give life to objects time has passed by.
