A very fine chest on chest exhibiting beautiful figured keyaki with clear lacquer. From the town of Sakata in northwest Yamagata prefecture.The iron and wood craftsmanship reflected in this tansu derive from a history of sea chest production in the area. With kiri wood interiors.
