A rare find! An original large stacking clothing chest from the town of Ogi,on Sado Island. This imposing tansu is in exceptional condition. The keyaki drawer faces are finished with clear lacquer and ornate iron fittings. The distinctive chased lock plates and unique iron strapping on the front of the case were created by the finest hardware craftsmen. With kiri wood drawer interiors and case wood of sugi. 45 1/4 w x 17 d x 45 1/8 h Meiji era 1868-1912.
