Firing clay has been occurring since the earth was formed into planet.
As each civilization evolved in its own unique environment differences in the styles and forms of pottery evolved with it.

In Japan, the founder of “Sa-Dou”, tea ceremony master Rikyu Sen,
had established the concept of pottery as its own category for appreciation and development.
Firing process of pottery is deeply rooted on characteristics of clay;
the integrity and fame of pottery starts with the clay and potter’s skill and desire to immortalize his art.

“Yakimono [pottery]” means or translates into “things to burn.”
It means to burn the clay. I believe that the firing of clay has unique attraction;
firing of earth that we are born from and the use of it, cannot be expressed by other forms of arts.
I would like to create the space that integrates the shape and nuance rather than designing simply forms of what it ought to be.
